🥩 Dry-Aged Ribeye SteakRecipe by Chef Freyka

👩🍳 Before we start: your adult stays right in the kitchen with you. If they think you're ready, you get to hold the pan and flip the steak yourself! If not, let them do it this time — that's okay too. Every time you listen and let them help, they trust you a little more for next time. And that little splash and sizzle when oil meets the hot pan? We call those Hot Angel Kisses — nothing to be scared of, just the pan saying hello. ✨

- Take the steak out and let it sit on the counter until it's not cold anymore. Ask your adult when it's ready!
- Sprinkle salt and pepper all over the steak, on both sides. Press gently so it sticks!
- Heat the pan until it's hot, adult by your side. Drizzle a little oil in — watch for the Hot Angel Kisses! 👩🍳 adult by your side
- Lay the steak in the pan and sear it — 2 minutes, then flip. 👩🍳 adult by your side
- Add butter, garlic, rosemary and thyme to the pan. Smell that? 👩🍳 adult by your side
- Spoon the melty butter over the steak again and again, flipping every 30 seconds. 👩🍳 adult by your side
- Move the steak to a board to rest. Cover it loosely with foil — don't peek too soon!
- Once it's rested, slice it together. Time to eat! 🎉
🗝️ Grandma's Secretstap a trunk to unlock a why
If the steak is icy-cold in the middle, the outside burns before the inside is ready. Letting it warm up means it cooks evenly, all the way through.
Grandma's secret ✓
Little fine salt soaks in fast and pulls out too much juice. Big coarse salt sits gently on top, so the steak stays juicy instead of drying out.
Grandma's secret ✓
That's called basting! The hot, melty butter carries the garlic and herb flavor all over the steak while it cooks — like giving it a warm, tasty bath.
Grandma's secret ✓
All the juices rush to the middle while it cooks. Resting gives them time to spread back out — so when you take a bite, it's juicy instead of dry.
